CARBODIAM has the pleasure to announce the acquisition of ULTRADIA; distribution partner for Belgium and Luxemburg.
ULTRADIA has been distributing CARBODIAM produced products under the ULTRADIA label since 1994 from their headquarters in the well-know Axis Business Park located south of Brussels at the crossing of several important Belgian highways and only 18km from the CARBODIAM factory.
A modern building with a total surface of 350m² includes a big airy show room where a team of 2 professional experts present a great variety of diamond tools and machines. An experienced team of 3 technicians ensures the re-tipping of diamond tools as well as the maintenance and repair of their customers machines in a workshop equipped with modern, top-of-the-crop equipment.
The ULTRADIA Sales Team consists of 6 Diamond Tool Experts, who give personal and highly technical consulting support to ULTRADIAs very wide customer base all over Belgium and Luxemburg.
Eric SIMON, Managing Director since 1997, will continue to manage ULTRADIA as a separate business unit. Eric Simon is delighted with this new opportunity The integration of ULTRADIA in the CARBODIAM Group is logical consequence of the close relationship between both companies and their managements since 1994. The Mission of Ultradia is to participate in larger Sawing, Drilling and Surfacing works both in Belgium and Luxemburg. This allows us to develop extremely well performing tools together with the larger companies and then make these available to independent entrepreneurs. As a part of a larger group, we are certainly strategically stronger with a global vision of the European and World Wide Market as well as financially stronger.

The Bauma fair is organized every 3 years in Munich Germany and took place the 19th to 25th of April 2010. This year Carbodiam rented a 60m2 stand. Carbodiam was present with the stand display originally made for Batimat Paris in the new Carbodiam House Style. For the Bauma, we also had the pleasure to partially share our stand with Samedia.
Carbodiam presented the complete Machine Range with several Drill Rigs, a Table Saw, Floor Saw, Floor Grinding Machine and a Braun Wall Saw. On show was also the prototype Roof Top core drill segment and the new 20mm high Alligator VX segment for wall saw blades segment. Flexor Segments where present on the intriguing Snakor.
Samedia presented a full rack of dry cutting blades for their distribution customers.
The week started badly, mother nature playing up with a sick Volcano in Iceland, making travelling complicated for our own stand team and also of course for our international visitors. However, our team managed to set up the stand on time and after a first few days of confusion, the participation was back to normal.
The comments from our German Sales team are that it was perceptible that the BAUMA is a real "must" for suppliers in the construction-branch due to the 3-year-rhythm and the status as a lead-exhibition.
The contacts were of very good quality, except for the last two days with a high quota of private visitors. The international image of the Bauma fair was confirmed since every third customer was from abroad.
The dialogues with our visitors were mainly about tools and applications. Especially the forged wall saw blade found allot of interest, some offers could be made directly on the booth, and other customers were willing to do some testing. On the machine side, the main interests were for drill-machines, -riggs and the BRAUN HF wall saw.
Holger Marsch stated that it worked very well to present our group-strategy with the three columns Carbodiam, Eiche and Samedia. For the German customers (even for Eiche-ones) it was not a problem and for many export customers I had the feeling that this makes us more attractive as a supplier.
The BAUMA was also a good chance to strengthen the cooperation with our machine partners (Braun, Weka,...) who were in the same hall. continued Holger.

Late Spring Carbodiam France invited their preferred customers and business partners to a special Open Day in their facilities located near Paris.
In a relaxed and sunny atmosphere Carbodiams customers and business partners discussed business and non-business matters over a delicious buffet barbecue. The Open Day was a great opportunity to pull out of the day-to-day. All the participants enjoyed taking the time for a broader look at the industries and new promising applications with the major market key players as well as the international experts from Carbodiams headquarters in Belgium.
Every one present took the opportunity to discover the Carbodiam premises; show-room, re-tipping workshop and stock. Interesting discussions took place with the international Applications and R&D Managers as well as the local Technical Experts.
The Carbodiam team had the opportunity to talk to everyone about the market evolution, new product applications, sustainable development solutions as well as daily performance and work comfort improvements. Innovative products were presented and as well as several special promotional actions on Carbodiam tools, valid on that day only, and very much appreciated by the participants.
Carbodiam gave a sneak preview of the new range of heavy duty, Planetary Grinders, Surfacing machines Made in Belgium that will be launched in the rest of Europe this summer. These machines are available from diameter 500mm to 780mm and made an excellent impression since several customers made immediate decisions for purchasing them or asked for demos on their jobsites.
Several Carbodiam partners were present; such as company Flex, supplier of hand held equipments, who presented their complete range including hand-held surfacing, sawing and drilling machines as well as a giraffe surfacing machine all of which are the perfect complements to Carbodiams diamond tools.
A complete range of Vacuum Cleaners was also presented since a healthy and clean work environment are becoming more and more important on most jobsites.

BATIMAT 2009, the two yearly International Construction Fair, took place in Paris « Porte de Versailles » between November 2 and 7. As usual CARBODIAM was present in order to meet our French Customers but also host our International Visitors.
Despite the difficult economic situation of the construction sector in many countries, a majority of the usual exhibitors in the domain of Diamond tools and Machines where present, taking advantage of the possibility to reach professionals from all parts of the world.
BATIMAT 2009 was the right opportunity for CARBODIAM to introduce the New House Style stand concept as well as our new products such as the TORNADOR (Drill Crown) and the INCISOR GOLD (High Performance version of the well known Incisor). The advantages of these products are also described in this Newsletter.
On top of this, as part of our strategy to supply our customers: Contractors Drillers Sawers with a Global Solution, the fair was an opportunity to reveal our complete machine range currently available with CARBODIAM colors and logo.
This range is composed of Table Saws, Floor Saws, Drill Riggs and Motors, Surfacing Machines and the range of Wall and Cable Saws from Braun.
Our new range, as well as the documentation and associated price lists, where appreciated by both our French and International customers.
